Book Permission Guidelines

If you are using less than 5% of the text from a book and it amounts to less than 10% of your complete work and it is not considered the core material from the book, you have permission to reprint the excerpt in your project free of charge. This excludes charts and illustrations, any commercial use, and any for of electronic use.We would ask that a credit line be given preferably on the page that the material is used: Title, Author, Copyright Date, Used by Permission of NavPress, All Rights Reserved. www.navpress.com (1-800-366-7788).

If you are using any charts or illustrations, core material, or  more than 5% of the book, a written request is required. If you are using any amount of content for commercial use or any type of electronic distribution, a written request is also required. Please send your request via email to permissions@navpress.com. Please include the title of the product, the author, the exact amount of material you wish to copy (including page numbers), the number of copies you would like to make, the purpose for the copies, and if you will be including the excerpt in a product for sale. Please fill out this request form and email it to permissions@navpress.com. All requests will be handled in the order received.

Fees will apply and are determined based on the amount of material used, the distribution of that material, and whether it is for commercial or non-commerical use. All fees are established to compensate our authors fairly for further use of their copyrighted material. Every effort will be made to respond as soon as possible or to accommodate specific due dates, but please allow 1-2 weeks.

These are general guidelines only. If you wish to include a portion of our copyrighted material, for example, in a product for sale, on or as part of any type of artwork, in a greeting card, on a website, in an email or download, on a website, on a T-shirt, or in a magazine, additional factors need to be taken into consideration. A written request is required. Please fill out this request form and email it to permissions@navpress.com. Please try to avoid calling to inquire about your request as this delays the permissions process. All requests will be handled in the order received. Response times may vary and depend on the number of incoming requests.

Before submitting your request, please pay special attention to the material you are requesting permission to use. NavPress cannot grant permission for any third party material (which is material used by permission of another source). You will need to contact the original publisher or author of the material to receive permission to quote any third-party or quoted material that appears in any of our publications.

Please send your request to NavPress Permissions or mail it to

Prayer Card Permission Guidelines

We do not allow an entire prayer card to be copied due to the fact that it is already available for purchase in a format that is affordable and easily distributed. If you wish to include the prayer card in a newsletter or email, it is preferred that you include a link to our website for that particular prayer card of interest instead. The reader can then view a PDF file of the prayer card and print a copy for his or her personal use. This printed file contains a watermark that prevents future copying.

If you wish to include only a portion of a prayer card in a newsletter, email, or bulletin, please send your request to permissions@navpress.com and include an approximate total number of pieces that will be sent. If you wish to translate a prayer card, please refer to our rights guidelines or send an email request.

Topical Memory System Permission Guidelines

The TMS is a complete memory system designed to work as a set. Each person should buy his or her own copy of the TMS. It is a great tool that will be useful for years to come. If it is not possible for everyone in a small group, for example, to purchase the TMS and those people decide to copy the verses, they do not have our permission to use the topic assigned to each verse.

If it is your desire to know if it is permissible to copy Scripture, please contact the Bible publisher for the version you plan to use. Typically on the copyright page of each Bible is information how many verses you can reprint without needing permission (usually 100-500 verses).
